Kevin was a railway enthusiast from the cradle. Sliding doors between the dining room and lounge were tube train doors. I remember hours of playing with the model railway dad built in the loft. This model was a figure of eight with a tunnel, double track, sectors and points all on top of a large water tank.

Standing on Jacobs ladder the footbridge over the busy lines coming out of Paddington, I would get bored but Kev would stay and watch and take down engine numbers.

Busses, trams, buildings and even signposts were appreciated by Kevin. When he was old enough Kevin would go out on buses and chat to the drivers.

The town hall at Sutton Coldfield was under threat of closure, Kevin had a hand in saving it. We hope one day to put on a concert there in his memory.

Kevin found a gem in human form when he met Annette. A warm-hearted, wholehearted life enthusiast with energy and common sense. Such care she gave him and the jobs that were done to move him and to help him get the professionals he needed to be involved with. Annette has been extraordinary! I want to thank Annette for everything you did for him especially in the last months of his life.

Kevin's top ten is something I thought would be valuable to have. So much music in Kevin's life, what were his favourites? His ten Desert Island Discs can be found on Spotify (11146395269) and, yes,  they are in his own carefully chosen order.  A piece of music which is a reflection of Kevin is one of the movements from the planet suite by the composer Holst. This was a childhood favourite from the record player - Venus the bringer of peace. Kevin is now at peace.
